Following is an excerpt from the this month's Newsletter...

The Économusée model was officially launched in British Columbia in May 2012 with the creation of two pilot sites on Vancouver Island: the Cider-making Économusée® at Merridale Ciderworks and the Herbology Économusée® at Hazelwood Herb Farm. Following the inaugurations, the Économusée BC team initiated an economic impact assessment study to measure early indicators of the transformation process that our new Économusée® partner sites had undergone. Additionally, we conducted a visitor experience survey in the summer and fall of 2012, which aimed primarily at obtaining feedback from customers as they navigated the new experiences at each site. These monitoring methods will be used at all new Économusée® sites that join the BC network. 

Early results from the first year of performance at both pilot sites indicate positive impacts at both the revenue and visitation levels. This provides us with motivation to further our work and expand the number of Économusée® sites in the province.
